Hacker Olympics 2010
How it all goes down...
So on game day every team will receive a Team Key. Keep this key in a secure and safe place. You will need this for submit ting each challenge, without it your team will be unable to receive point's for challenges. The challenges are broken down into a series, while they vary in type. They are not specifically labelled as to the genre of the challenge. Once you complete a level, you will get a flag and a challenge key. The challenge key will be used when submitting your flag.
Submitting a Flag
http://xxxxxxxx (server not up till game day) So once you have completed a level, and found the flag and challenge key. You will then grab your trusty team id key, and submit the 2 keys "challenge, team" to the flag submission server. If your team key is valid, the flag is then compared to the one stored on the flag submission server. Once a match has been verified, the challenge key will be checked and point's will then be awarded to the submitting team. The time you submitted your flag is logged. Make sure to NOT double submit a flag, or it could skew your results! That would be a matter of loosing bonous points if your team was on of the first three to complete a challenge.
smpCTF Point's System
The point's system work's very simple. Each challenge is assigned a numeric value based on difficulty levels. The team with the most point's at the end of the CTF wins. The top 5 teams with the most point's will then advance into the finals.
*Bonus Point's*
Bonus point's will be awarded to the first 3 teams to complete a challenge. Point's are based on the over-all percentage of the teams score. 1St team = 10% 2Nd team = 5% 3Rd team = 2.5%
Wall of Shame
Wall of shame will not be a good place, if your team or a member of your team is placed on the wall of shame. Your team is auto de-ducted 5% of the over-all total score for every hour you remain on the wall. Q: How do you get off the wall? A: Try hard not to end up on it...
